 Mission

The mission of the Waukee Friends Foundation is to support the Waukee Public Library's programs and services through volunteering and by supporting the ongoing, and long-term, financial needs of the library.

We conduct annual fundraising campaigns and events, such as the semi-annual book sales, and maintain the Book Nook at the library entrance. Your donations and purchases supplement the library's city budget and fund new materials for the library's collection as well as programs and resources you want.

The WPLFF also helps with special purchases for the library such as furniture and technology enhancements. Currently, we are working toward funding the remodel of the Waukee Public Library's children's area.

With your support, we've recently been able to provide the the following for the library:

  • The Wandering Library Bicycle
  • Musical instruments for toddler storytime
  • Self-checkout stations
  • Barn Quilt Program Presenter
  • Lynda & Ancestry.com online resources
  • Shelving display units

The Waukee Public Library and the Waukee Public Library Friends Foundation happily accept donations of gently used books, current magazines, DVDs, and audio books to be used in the library's collection, sold in the Book Nook, or sold at one of the WPL Friends Foundation semi-annual book sales.
