The Waukee Public Library will be closed effective immediately out of consideration of the health of our community. If you have materials due, please hold onto them until the library reopens. Due dates are being extended, even if you previously received an overdue reminder. All fines and due dates will be suspended. There is no need to contact us to renew items, they will be automatically renewed. Please know that you can access many of our resources online anytime at www.waukeepubliclibrary.org/online-library

Thank you for your patience as we work to ensure the safety of our community, staff, and library patrons. Please check our social media and our website for more ways to use the library online and for future messages.

Are there any library resources I can use while the library is closed?

Yes! The Library provides a wide array of digital offerings, including e-books and magazines through Overdriveresearch databases, and access to a multitude of other online resources.

What if my items are due? Will I have late fees?

Due dates for all items currently checked out have been extended until April 24th. There will be no fines charged during the time we are closed.

How can I pick up my hold? Will my hold expire?

Holds will be available for pick up when we reopen. We will keep all holds in place and holds will not expire.

Can I return my items in the drive-up book drop?

Our book return will also be closed during this time period.

Can I get a library card while you are closed?

You can sign up for a temporary online card by filling out the online form on our website https://waukeepl.tlcdelivers.com/#section=obrsignup. Once you submit the form, you will be given a temporary barcode number. You can use that number to access digital resources while we are closed. There may be a delay of 24-48 hours for your barcode number to work. Please remember that Overdrive/Bridges items can only be used by residents of Waukee. Residents of other cities will need to use a library card from their home city.

I have a question about my account? Is there anyone that can help me?

You can contact us through our website at waukeepubliclibrary.org/about/contact-us
