The Waukee Public Library is excited to offer our Dial-A-Story service!

Simply call the Dial-a-Story phone line (515-981-7800) any time to hear a selection of books read aloud by library staff. Listen for as long or as little as you wish. New selections will be recorded twice a month, for infants through elementary aged students.

Listening to stories has many literacy benefits, including vocabulary development, increased focus and attention span, and imagination skills. Kids may want to draw or color while listening, or just sit back and enjoy this screen-free story option. If you find a story that you love, feel free to place a hold on a print copy through the library catalog.

In July we’re sharing books about wild animals. We will have different sets of stories from July 1-15, and July 16-30. Click here to see what is playing! We have rhythmic picture books, nonfiction, and songs and rhymes for babies.
