"Folding Cranes, Enfolding Community" - Pamela Douglas

Exhibition Description:

This intricate, three-dimensional memorial exhibit features hand-folded origami paper cranes. Each handmade crane honors the memory of an Iowan who died from COVID and the total number of cranes on display reflect the 406 lives lost to COVID as of March 23, 2023, in Dallas County (160) and the surrounding counties of Boone (71), Greene (28), Guthrie (48), Madison (47), and Adair (52). When possible, the cranes include the handwritten name of Iowans lost to the virus.
