Helping Hands: Animal Shelter Supply Drive

In honor of National Adopt a Shelter Dog month, the Library will be taking supply donations for the AHeinz57 Pet Rescue & Transport this October. 

AHeinz57 is a foster-based animal rescue organization committed to saving homeless companion animals, assisting other shelters/rescues through rescue transports, offer low cost spay/neuter services for our community, and educating the public on the issues of pet over-population, responsible pet ownership, and puppy mills. AHeinz57 also partners with the City of De Soto, the City of Waukee and the City of Adel to take in stray animals and work to reunite pets with their owners as quickly as possible.

Needed items include:

Animal Supplies

• Dog food -adult, puppy and canned – preferably Iams or 4Health adult dog food 
• Squeaky toys
• Training treats:  small soft treats or Primal Freeze Dried Food
• Heavy duty chew toys/bones (Nylabones)
• Clumping cat litter
• Dry kitten food
• Cat food – adult, kitten and canned
• Cat litter – Yesterday’s News
• High quality dry kitten food 
• Fancy Feast for kittens
• KMR Kitten formula
• Cat beds

Cleaning Supplies

• Windex
• Rescue Disinfectant Concentrate Gallon – cleaner
• Paper towels
• Garbage bags – 44 gallon
• Garbage bags – 13 gallon
• Toilet Paper
• Lysol Wipes
• Dryer sheets
• Baking soda
• O-Cedar mop buckets
