September 2nd at 11am – Prohibition in Iowa

Prohibition was a period of time when it was illegal to manufacture, sell, or transport liquor in the United States. So why did Iowa farmers get involved in using their corn to make liquor? Linda McCann researcher and author of numerous books on Iowa history, will delve into Iowa’s Prohibition history, sharing stories and comments from the children of Iowa moonshiners and bootleggers that she interviewed and providing examples of prohibition activities in the Waukee area.
