Snacks & Facts

No time to attend an evening or weekend program? Try our Snacks & Facts series! We’ll have a speaker every first Friday of the month at the Waukee Community Center (675 Walnut St). Come ready to learn and we’ll provide the snacks! Stick around afterward for Waukee Parks & Recreation’s bingo at 1 PM. This program is brought to you in partnership with Waukee Parks & Recreation.

April 5th at 11am –  Pollinator Gardening & Beaded Garden Stakes

Butterflies are not only beautiful, they are also a huge benefit to our environment! Join Christine Eckles from the Blank Park Zoo’s Plant.Grow.Fly program as she shows you how attract important pollinators—bees and butterflies—to your garden. Whether you plant a single pot on your back porch or an entire prairie field, you can make a difference and help native pollinators with just a few easy steps! Stick around after the talk to make a beaded garden stake to snazzy up your garden. All supplies provided.
