Meet the Youth Services Team

Ryan - Teen Services Librarian

Ryan has a BA in Theater and Communication Education with a Reading Endorsement and is completing his Masters in Library Science this spring. Ryan taught secondary theater, speech, English, and reading for thirteen years and was a teacher librarian before joining the Waukee Public Library in August 2024. Ryan of course enjoys reading, but also has interest performing musical theater, taking care of his houseplants, cooking, and spending time with his family and puppy.

Eliza - Children's Librarian

Miss Eliza has a Master's degree in History and a Master of Library and Information Science degree with a focus on children’s literature. She joined the Waukee Public Library in 2019, and previously worked at the Amherst Public Library (MA) for 5 years, and in a variety of museums doing educational programming for kids. Miss Eliza loves Science Comics, skateboarding, Star Wars, cats, and any opportunity to wear a costume.

Robin - Youth Programming Specialist

Miss Robin has a degree in biology from the University of Missouri and worked as a Naturalist early in her career. She taught preschool for over 20 years, assisted in elementary school libraries, and became the Youth Services Librarian at Tri-Township Public Library, IL. She “retired” for a few years to spend time with family and now has 7 grandchildren in Chicago, Colorado, and Waukee. Robin came out of retirement and joined the Waukee Public Library in August of 2023. She is thrilled and excited have fun with families through books, songs, movement, and learning.
