Snacks & Facts: Beginning Genealogy

No time to attend an evening or weekend program? Try our Snacks & Facts series! We’ll have a speaker the first Friday of each month at the Waukee Community Center (675 Walnut St). Come ready to learn and we’ll provide the snacks! Stick around afterward for Waukee Parks & Recreation’s bingo at 1 PM.

Your family has a story to tell! Come learn the basics to begin your journey of discovery for your ancestral history. Theresa Liewer from the Iowa Genealogical Society will give you a road map for researching your family’s history, talk about what tools and resources are available (many of which are free through the Library), and discuss what to do if you run into an information brick wall.
