Each month, explore a fascinating true story followed by an extended learning activity. Kids don’t need to read the book in advance. This month’s book is, “Whoosh: Lonnie Johnson’s Super Soaking Stream of Inventions.”

For kids entering grades 3-5 in the fall. Caregivers aren’t required to stay in the room for this program.

Visit the Waukee Public Library booth at the Waukee Arts Festival in Centennial Park! We’ll have a free craft for all ages, and the Book Bike will be on the scene handing out library merch.

During this hour, enjoy designated quiet browsing and inclusive programming for individuals with special sensory needs and their families or caregivers. There will be a dimmed calm room, natural lighting, computer availability, and access to library materials. There will be sensory stations and therapy animals available, too.
